Happy, healthy kids please!
Ok, so i’ve been asked a few times here recently for “how do I keep my kids healthy?!” and so I thought i’d bring the convo in here.
I’m no expert, but I did have many years under my belt of preventative wellness before my littles came along!
The key here is “preventative”. Ya’ll, we HAVE to stay on top of it (preaching to the choir lol).
We do our best to keep a diet of nutrient dense foods, drink lots of clean water (thanks Berkey), and stay away from sugars. But i'm SO glad I have other tools to reach for everyday to keep us feeling our best!
Here’s what the kids wellness “routine” currently looks like:
DAILY SUPPLEMENTS (YES, YOUR LITTLES CAN DO THIS):
.Probiotic. I am a huge believe in gut health. So my two have been taking one since 5 months old. It’s a game changer!
Vitamin D drops. This is another one that is often overlooked. We can’t get Vitamin D from food… and little kids aren’t out in the sun enough as is!
Vitamin C. Like an appropriate, high dose C. So amazing for immune support!
Ningxia Red. This is an antioxidant drink that is FULL of super nutrients. We’ve been pouring this for the kids since they started on solids. They love it, and it’s our wellness secret weapon.
ESSENTIAL OILS:
Wellness Roller. An easy way to get oils on your kids is in a diluted roller bottle. We do this every night, or multiple times a day depending on need. Roll right on to their toes, backs, or wherever we can. Kids are squirmy! (Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, Copaiba, Thieves).
Sleep support. Most nights we have Peace & Calming or Sleepyize in the diffuser for a restful sleep. I love massaging Gentle Baby or Seedlings baby oil on before pjs. But when needed, we diffuse Frankincense, Snifflease, or Cedarwood too.
Detox baths. I toss in half a cup of Epsom salts with Lavender, Lemon and Frankincense oils. We do this when our bodies need extra support.
Diffusing. As mentioned, diffusing at night for sleep is so easy. It also is essential for cleaning the air we breathing and supporting our bodies. I always have diffusers going around the house with Citrus Fresh, Thieves, Eucalyptus and a ton more. But when our bodies need more support we have Thieves, Clove, Raven, Peppermint and the like pumping all day long.
